Ups and Downs

Remember, life is a journey. Along that journey, there are twists and turns and ups and downs. My logic side wanted to believe that there was a playbook for the perfect life or state of being. I was always looking for those guidelines and steps that I could take to yield the desired results—well, I can say that was not in the cards for me.
What I realized is that many of the things I read, participated in, and listened to were more of a springboard for me to tap into my inspiration. Don’t get me wrong; there definitely were some useful things I discovered from others, but like with anything, I had to expand on it and make it my own for it to work.
When I had a realization, it brought about a lighter feeling that I secretly hoped would last forever. Sometimes, realizations give you a glimpse of what can be created within you. Sometimes, there is more to uncover about what motivates you unconsciously. Sometimes the downs allow you to practice what you just discovered. That is why the ups and downs will cycle around.
So, as you go along the journey of self-discovery and healing, remember to be kind to yourself. You have the strength within you to get through whatever downtime you are in. Your guides, angels, gods, and goddesses are around to help remind you of who you are. Lean on them, talk to them, and let them help you. But most importantly, remember to ask yourself what you are feeling. Allow yourself to focus on it. So, the feeling or thought can transport you to a deeper understanding of yourself without judgment.
Often, it can be scary to address “bad” behavior on our part. Forgiving ourselves for how we have treated ourselves or what we have done to others can be tough. But know this: the more you bring the feel, thought, and “shoulds” into the light, the more you can heal and transport yourself to have greater clarity and understanding.
So relax and revel in the journey. Remembering the downs are a time of learning about yourself and the world around you. The ups are a time when you see and feel your potential state of being. So that as you go along, the swing between the up and down becomes less of a mountain and more of a small hill. For me, the object is to have the swings be less significant in nature and more balanced.
